LISTOS

What is LISTOS? 

It is a program under the San Francisco Fire Department NERT Office.

LISTOS is an Emergency Awareness and Disaster Preparedness program in Spanish. 
The core of the LISTOS design is based on building sustainable community relationships in a cultural environment.


About

The LISTOS program is comprised of a series of discussions which: 

  • Teach the basic ideas of preparedness in one class 

  • Empower participants to share their knowledge with their community

  • Consider cultural sensitives and time constraints  

  • Utilizes an interactive discussion learning environment for the whole family 


Curriculum

  • Identify potential emergencies and disasters  

  • Creating reunification and communication plan  

  • Important document back-up

  • Utilities shut off 

  • Fire extinguisher use  

  • Basic first aid 

  • Organization at home 

  • Emotional support
