The Division of Homeland Security engages in comprehensive disaster planning for the City and County of San Francisco. In collaboration with public health, law enforcement, emergency communications, public works, private organizations and industry, the Division develops and manages the emergency response that the Fire Department will provide during a disaster. The Division also manages all government sponsored Weapons of Mass Destruction/Terrorism response programs, federal security grants, and ensures that the Department is compliant with the National Incident Management System standards.
